Usual really - School, Art College in Exeter then teacher training in Devon

From a very young age my father used to take me to the art galleries in London - I've always loved pictures

How long have you been painting?
For as long as I can remember

Where do you get your materials?
Any good art shop

How/Where did Search Press discover you?
Roz (Editorial Director) was doing a trawl of the internet and I think my name came up. Also Juan (Art Director) and I went to Exeter Art College together.

What were your first thoughts when asked to write a book?
Excitement, rapidly followed by abject terror!

Has publishing a book changed your life in any way?
I have made contact with some really wonderful new people.

Any tips for beginners?
Just keep on being creative and doing what you enjoy.

What is your favourite art tool?
A wooden stick with hairs attached to one end!

Have you travelled for your art?

Not too far, mostly in UK. But I have travelled to Switzerland for an Amnesty International exhibition.

Where does your inspiration come from?
Everywhere. Books, cinema, nature, people and places. I'm always inspired by looking at the work of other artists and I try to be as open as possible to new ways of looking at things.
